As a movement educator and myofascial release practitioner the concept of breath has fascinated and influenced me for decades. I experienced my first lung collapse at the age of 36. Before I was fully recovered I experienced another, and then another and another... at some point I stopped counting. Each pneumothorax is a new opportunity to experience the rhythm, the cycle of breath.
I am committed to the continuous research of fascia and the transformative quality of breath. Living with catamenial pneumothorax, motivates me to this sustained investigation.
I am the creator of Moving Fascia®, hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Anatomical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh and teach embodied anatomy to movement teachers. Alongside my work as an educator, I am collaborating on a research project exploring “The effect of breath on calming tremor for Parkinson’s disease” with researchers from the University of Brighton and Oxford University .
“Breath is the story of an organism and the environment. It is the story of their relationship.
A relationship that can be observed as the dance of continuous exchange.”
Breath has been the epicentre of my work for so long. I am personally committed to a lifelong research of breath. Each time I have a lung collapse I am reminded the focused of this exploration lives in the felt sense, it lives in the experience.
If like me you are motivated to explore where breath can lead you, I invite you to join me. With the Winter Solstice, we will take the opportunity to go inwards, dive into the felt sense and through a shift in awareness experience a renewed sense of calm and clarity. We will carve out space and time to nourish our experience and perceptions of breath.
Arrive at the Summer Solstice with a reinvigorated practice and new energy that replenishes your breath, your practice and your own awareness.

What do I need for the movement sessions?
You will need the Moving Fascia SOFT balls for the experiential movement sessions.
We can make other suggestions for alternatives you can suggest for your clients to use, however, we require you have this ready before the course starts.
A programme not a course?
We do not see Breathing As One as a course. Breathing as One is a personal journey that will lead you, as an individual, through the first six months of the year. Ana will be guiding breathing practice month-by-month embarking in an informative and transformative experience. Each month, Ana will share a short presentation focusing on the biotensegral, biochemical and psychosocial aspects of breath to support your understanding. These will be combined with guided breathing exploration and discussion.
How much interaction and support is provided?
Ana will guide the group through live zoom sessions and host a live Q&A to help support your understanding and experience. Our online platform will include all recordings and the private community forum will allow you to interact with Ana throughout the six months. It presents an ongoing opportunity to engage with other movement teachers and practitioners, continuing discussion and exploration, and helps to create accountability for your own research in between sessions.
